Events About Us

Each of the North West GAP sisters were involved with Theta Nu Xi at the undergraduate level, having their own story as to how it became part of their life and the desire to stay connected and involved after graduation. The following was how the crossing of their paths led to the formation of the North West GAP colony:

Amanda Tomchak (Iota) having been GAP director and watching the other chapters around the country do their thing, wanted to be able to experience that as well.  She along with other former Xi Eta sisters, began discussions to form a “New GAP West” after Xi Eta became anchored in Arizona.

Sharon Pewtress (Epsilon) after moving to Oregon and out of the TNX loop, she realized how much she missed the sisterhood and networking it had provided. She eagerly joined Amanda in moving forward with the New GAP West and together they laid the foundation for others to join.

Sarah “Kat” Townes (Delta) after moving to Colorado, she wanted to continue her involvement with TNX, but didn’t know any other sisters in the area. When she heard Amanda and Sharon were interested in founding a chapter in the North West, she immediately got on board. She was hoping to start a chapter in Colorado, but was excited about the possibility of meeting sisters from other parts of the country and starting a new chapter across state lines.
